Scoob-acular! Part 2: Scooby-Doo and the Witch’s Ghost Review!

Welcome all, welcome ya’ll, back to the 2nd part of the 1st annual Scoob-acular! For this second part we will be looking at the 2nd direct to video Scooby-Doo movie, Scooby-Doo and the Witch’s Ghost, personally this would be my 2nd favorite out of the 4. It is definitely underrated compared to the first film which is kinda praised for being apart of a ton of people’s childhoods, but this film kinda gets left in the dust, even though it was made only a year later, but hey let’s get roight, into the REVIEW!

First let’s start with the characters, so of course we have our lovely protagonists who are the same as they always were. But then we have the new characters like Ben Ravencroft who is voiced by Tim Curry so he is obviously the villain, but he is a good character none the less, reminds me of Beau from the first movie. And then there is the Hex Girls, the “best?” thing to come from this movie. They are basically an excuse to put more music numbers into the movie for Shaggy and Scooby to dance and be funny and all that jazz, they are okay. But, overall the characters are average let’s get to the juicy stuff already, the story!

The story starts off once again with a stereotypical Scooby-Doo chase scene happening where they get to do more gags from the original than they already did in the first film, and then Ben trips the bad guys like a boss and tells them to come to this q u i e t town for a reason that I forgot and then they went there! But, When they got there it was really noisy with people all over the place, thanks for the lie BEN! They are all hyped of this ghost witch thing witch is stupid, ha ha get it, it said “witch” instead of “which” heh heh. Anyways, Then there was a ton of filler stuff and then we get to the juicy ending fight where Ben resurrects the Witch and then there are pumpkins and giant turkeys who do bad things and then the Witch is sucked back into the book and drags Ben down with her, dang that guy died, that’s dark Scooby-Doo.

The animation in this film is good, very very average, but it’s good none the less. One critique would be that a lot of scenes in this film just feel like filler which is amazing that they were able to put filler into a hour and 20 minute movie, but okay. In the first film it was sorta building up to the crazy stuff that would happen but here it just feels like they are d r a g g i n g it out, ya’ know! But anyways that ends it for the review of Scooby-Doo and the Witch’s Ghost review, which mean we are 1/2 of the way through the 1st Scoob-acular! Yeah, let’s go!
